Digitek Handyscan- A Magic Wand
Scanning is an essential part of digitization. A Scanner helps to create a digital version of documents and images. As mostly they are desktop models, it is not very easy to carry them around.
This is not the case anymore, Digitek has a solution for this. Recently Digitek launches Digitek Handyscan which allows you to scan almost anything. The handyscan is comfortable to use and is less than a foot long.
The matte finish ensures protection from fingure-prints and smudges. The raised AA battery compartment is finished silver giving a premium look. The micros USB port on side allows transfer of images, directly to you computer.
On top there is a miniscule screen along with a setting button. To setup the device, insert batteries and the microSD card and turn the power on.
Choose the required options of colour or monochrome and the definition. The handyscan can scan in two definitions – 600 DPI and 300 DPI. Before starting the scan, you need to achieve optimum results. The power button is positioned above and the vattery compartment and doubles as a start scan button.
After calibrating, the Handyscan is relatively simple to use. To scan, press the button once and move the scanner over the object. In our test, we scanned an A4 document in 7 (Monochrome) and 15 (Colour) seconds respectively in 600 DPI mode. In 300 DPI Mode it took 3.5 and 2 seconds in colour and monochrome respectively.
The icing on the cake is that the Handyscan not only scans documents, it can also scan walls, curtains, bedsheets, etc. The output of the device is satisfactory, although the price may seem a bit steep, but given its quality and utility, the Handyscan is an nifty device.
